Creating card transitions

Navigate to the New card transition page
- Sign in to Mingle as a project administrator and open the project with the card transitions you want to add or change (if you're not already working in the project).

Click the Project admin tab.
Mingle displays the Project settings page.
if you are logged in as a project team member, Mingle displays the Team page.

Click the Card transitions link.
Mingle displays the Card transitions page with all transitions set up for this project.

Click the Create new card transition link.
Mingle displays the New card transition page.
Configure the new transition...
Name the transition...
Type a Name for the transition. You must specify a name, and it must be unique within the project.
This name will display as a link on cards that meet the card properties you specify here. It should describe the intent of the transition as succinctly as possible.
Choose a card type...
You must specify a card type for the transition. Once you've chosen the type, Mingle will display the currently available properties for that card type so that you can configure the transition.
Choose criteria properties...
Select the properties that a card must have for the transition to be made available, by clicking on the links and selecting the property values. Mingle will display the transition link for all cards that match this criteria.
Hidden properties will be highlighted, however they can be used in creating a transition in exactly the same way as visible properties as described below. To see the effect of a transition on hidden card properties you need to look at the history for that card.
For all property types
- (any) - is the default, and indicates that transition will be available for any value of the property.
- (not set) - indicates that the transition will only be available if the value for this property is (not set).
- New value... - you can choose to create a new property value if the one you want is not in the list.
- Project variable - if you have associated project variables with the property, then those project variables will be available for selection.
For team member properties
- (current user) - indicates that the transition will only be available if the value of the property is the currently logged in user.
For date properties
- (today) - indicates that the transition will only be available if the value of the property is the current date.
Assign values to be set...
Select the card properties that will be set when team members click the card transition link, by clicking on the links and selecting the desired property values.
Here is where you can assign values to transition only properties as part of a transition, which otherwise cannot be modified unless the user is a project admin.
A transition must set at least one property, otherwise it would have no effect.
For all property types
- (no change) - is the default, and indicates that the property value will not be modified by the transition.
- (not set) - indicates that the property value will be discarded by the transition.
- (require user input) - will prompt the user to input a value for the property when they initiate the transition.
- New value... - you can choose to create a new property value if the one you want is not in the list.
- Project variable - if you have associated project variables with the property, then those project variables will be available for selection.
For team member properties
- (current user) - will assign the current user to the property, this will be the user who initiates the transition.
For date properties
- (today) - will assign the current date to the property, this will be the date at which the transition was initiated.
Assign team members...
By default, the transition will be available to all team members.
If you want this transition to be available only to selected team member(s), click Only selected team members.
Mingle displays a list of all team members registered for this project.
Select the checkbox next to the names of the appropriate team members.
Save your work...
Click the Create transition link.
Mingle creates the card transition and displays its details in the list of card transitions.
