Signing up for work (cards)

Signing up for cards is useful when a lot of work needs to be done. Team members can sign-in, pick up cards and get work done without the Project Manager's constant involvement.

Mingle provides several ways for team members to sign up for cards.

The number beside each point corresponds to the respectively numbered call-out.

Set the "Owner" property

  1. Cards, a basic artifact in Mingle, are representative of work to be done. The owner property can be set by any team member who has access to the project. By changing the owner property to themselves, team members can sign up for a card. This is then reflected in their “My work queue”.

Drag and drop cards across swim lanes

  1. A team member can set up a custom card view of the project (arranged by the card owner), and simply drag and drop cards across swim lanes.

Use Transitions for automatic card assignment

  1. Transitions allow team members to automate signing up for work, and ensure all the necessary details are captured when you use them. For example, a Developer can use the “Dev Started” transition (and such transitions can be created for any Role/User).
  2. After choosing the transition, the "Owner" is set to the current user and the date is captured.
