Topic: [implemented-2.1] New "observer" role

This has been added now as a light user and anonymous user option in 2.1. Admins, can we change this to implemented?

I’d also apreciate this feature, seeing it as a way to provide a user for the api while reading data.
Also, would this user/role be paid as a normal user? Having to buy a license for an observer or a “machine” seems like a tough case to sell. In my case it would tilt the user count from free to paying, since the team is already 5 persons.

Joe – This didn’t make the 2.0 release but it is in the ‘candidate’ pot for selection for our next release. We will keep you posted.

Some orgs want to let users external to a project to have non-intrusive visibility into it.

It would be good to have a role with rights in between the non-project-member Mingle user, and the project-member Mingle user – say an “observer” role.

An observer would have read-only access to Mingle. You could also further limit content they have access to, e.g., not able to see permissions of other project team members.
