css popup lists and boxes not visible#712

The use of css popups for dropdowns and popup boxes are starting to drive me crazy. Too often they popup out of view. Please make them stay with in the client area of the browser or revert to common widgets that work. |

Jake – I am sorry you are experiencing trouble with Mingle. The Mingle UI should work without a problem on IE6, IE7, Firefox and Safari. Could you please provide some more concrete information on which dropdown and popup boxes you are talking about – and on which screens? Also – which browser are you using? |

sorry, I should have included screenshots. Here are 2 examples, though this happens for any css based popup. http://skitch.com/tinomen/t6i6/mingle-card-properties-pop-up-off-screen This is happening in firefox, safari and fluid (webkit). While you could argue that I could scroll the window up or down so the popup is in view, which happens to be what I do too often. I would argue that these popups should error on the side of usability. They should always be in view regardless of where the click or anchor is located. |

@ Jake – The images that you provided were very useful. Thank you. @ Jake and James – While we recognise the issue you experience the functionality it working as designed. Of course, that does not mean the functionality can not be improved and I will capture your feedback so we may consider reworking our pop-ups in future releases. - Suzie |
