Is it possible to use (any number) parameters for lane headings in the Grid view? Mingle only seems to allow (managed number list) parameters to be used, at least those are the only ones in the drop down. As the functions are count, sum, average, minimum, and maximum, is there some reason open number values wouldn’t be allowed? Is this a bug? Anyone having the same problem?

Thanks,
David Berkman

Hi David

There is a defect in Mingle 2.0.1 where properties whose value can be any number do not appear as a possible parameter for the lane headings on grid view.

This issue will be fixed in Mingle 2.1.

Thanks

This is a bit critical for our needs. When is version 2.1 scheduled for availability? Is it possible to use version 2.0 for a while?

Thanks,

Unfortunately, Mingle does not support backward compatibility so you would not be able to revert from version 2.0.1 to version 2.0.

However, the good news is that the Mingle 2.1 release is near. We plan to release 2.1 by October’s end.

One possible work-around that you could employ in the meantime is to convert your ‘any number’ property to a ‘managed number’ property using the Excel export/import feature. For example:

  • Create a backup of the project (using Mingle project export feature) just as a precautionary measure
  • Open the ‘All’ tab, making sure that no filters are set
  • Use Excel Import/Export feature to export all cards to an Excel spreadsheet. Copy the content into an Excel sheet.
  • Open the ‘Card properties’ management page under the “Project Admin” tab and delete the property you wish to convert.
  • In the newly created Excel spreadsheet, delete all columns except for ‘Number’ and the property you wish to convert.
  • Copy the entire contents of the 2 remaining columns to your clipboard.
  • Return the card list view in Mingle (‘All’ tab is fine) and choose the Excel Import option.
  • Paste in the 2 columns of data from spreadsheet into the provided area.
  • On preview screen, select ‘as Managed number list’ for the property you wish to convert.
  • Proceed with the import…

Please keep in mind that this work-around will effect the card’s history as you will be deleting a card property.

thanks, and I hope this helps.
