We’ve been searching for a way to associate cards together (not in a tree), but for example to be able to create a new card type for documentation that has external docs attached, and then associate that card (and multiple cards of that type) to one or more task or story cards.

Is there a good model, or some other solutions, for doing this?

The goal is to keep one and only one card for a given attachment document, so that when there is a revised version of the doc, the attachment doesn’t live in the multiple tasks that need it, but only lives in one place.

The only way to use properties to link cards at the moment is to use a tree but… in Mingle 2.1 we will have new card relationship properties which will allow you to do exactly what you describe.

Until then my suggestion is to either use a tree or link the cards together by using the card numbers in the card descriptions.
